Jill Kendle is Interlibrary Loan's new assistant; she joined us in August, and replaces Doris Worsham. Doris left us to work on a Bed and Breakfast which she plans to open in Moran, Texas.
The Systems Department gained a new librarian, Robert Soulliere, in August. Soulliere is a well-traveled Canadian who previously worked in the library at Al-Quds University in Palestine, Jerusalem, and more recently as an elementary school librarian for the Windsor-Essex County Roman Catholic School Board. As Computer Services Librarian, he runs the library's main computer lab and is responsible for the library's web page. Soulliere replaces James Lutz in this position; Lutz left it to work among our library's Administration.
Jennifer Duncan is our newest Reference Librarian. Duncan began working for us this October; she came to us from Chatham College in Pittsburgh. As our new Electronic Services Librarian, Duncan will be ordering and managing the library's CD-ROM and Internet databases. She replaces Sara Baron, who left us this summer for the library of the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
Paula Wyche is Government Information's new assistant. She worked previously at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and has been with us since September. Wyche replaces Diane Rubenkoenig, who moved on to become the Records Coordinator at the Lena Pope Home.
Special Collections has two new staff, Lisa Pena and Joe Helmick. Pena is a Library Assistant who started work here in October. She previously worked at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and replaces Suzanna Mooring, who moved to San Francisco this summer. Archival Assistant Joe Helmick also joined Special Collections this October. He has worked all over campus in a variety of positions: Dean of Graduate Studies and Research; Associate Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication; Director of the Miller Speech and Hearing Clinic; Chair of the Speech Communication Department; and Head of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department. So if he looks familiar, chances are you've seen him elsewhere on campus!
