Joyce Roach Reminiscence
By Barbara Standlee

"Shopping in Fort Worth, Texas" was the title of a presentation by Joyce Roach on the evening of Friday, February 18, in the Library's main reading room. Her humorous and nostalgic reminiscence about the excitement of coming into the big city for a day of shopping was shared by many in the audience. Joyce, a folklorist, author, and TCU graduate is always a popular speaker. She was introduced by friend and speaker from last February, Jim Lee. Dessert and coffee preceded the event and the room was decorated with shopping bags from Fort Worth stores of the past and present. Caesar's bust in the room was adorned with the popular "Shop 'Til You Drop" (Emo Donec Cado in Latin).
