Harry Potter

Bryan KeatingLet The Magic Begin” an afternoon with Harry Potter and Friends was held in the Great Reading Room of the Library on Saturday, November 17th from 3 to 5 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the TCU Library, the event featured a talk on “Harry Potter, Frodo and The Wart” by Fort Worth Star-Telegram book editor, Jeff Guinn. A reading from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was performed by wizard-attired actor and retired librarian, Bill Farrington. Harry Potter (Bryan Keating, nephew of June Koelker, Associate Library Director), greeted the assembled muggles (visitors). Prizes awarded included posters, ornaments, and for five lucky guests a complete set of the series of Potter books. Refreshment tables decorated with owls, potion bottles and Bernie Botts jelly beans featured punch and colored sugar cookies in the shape of trains, owls and stars.
