Friends Underwrite Framing Project

The Friends have graciously underwritten the cost of framing the Library’s copies of the famed four posters created in the early forties by the artist, Norman Rockwell, as his contribution to the war effort.  He was inspired by a speech delivered by Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Congress on 6 January 1941 in which the president enunciated the Four Freedoms as:  the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of every person to worship God in his own way, the freedom from want, and the freedom from fear.  The Library had received the posters as part of the Government Printing Office’s Depository Library Program.   The TCU Library has been a Federal Document Depository since 1916.
