Spring semester is in full swing at TCU, and the Mary Couts Burnett library continues to be the center of TCU study with the Information Commons busy at all times of the day and night; web-savvy reference librarians working with students; the “frog pods” filled with groups creating projects; researchers delving into special collections; and Bistro Burnett continuing to be a popular spot for coffee study breaks. Dr. Koelker and the library staff continue to develop new programs and opportunities for TCU students. The Friends of the TCU library are fortunate to support such leadership.
In January the Friends presented the library Staff Award to Susan Swain at the annual staff/retiree luncheon. Susan’s creativity and attention to detail make her displays informative and unique in the library, and we congratulate her on her work.
We are looking forward to our annual Spring Banquet with Bob Seal as our featured speaker. I know Bob will entertain and intrigue us with reminiscences of his trips to Cuba. We are also planning another Faculty Speak for this spring so watch your mail for information on this event.
It has been my privilege to have served as President of the Friends of the TCU Library for the past two years. As always, I am grateful for the friendships and the opportunities to learn that the Friends have afforded me. I look forward to seeing you at the Spring Banquet.
With warmest wishes,
