President's message

The Fall Semester marks the beginning of yet another year of excitement and opportunity at the Mary Couts Burnett Library. We are most fortunate that Dr. June Koelker has commenced her service as the “new” Dean of the Library following her appointment to this important position this past May. As many of you know, Dr. Koelker had earlier served as Interim Dean. Those of us that have had the recent opportunity to spend time around the Library or Dr. Koelker know that the Library will continue to a center of innovation and study at TCU.

Upcoming events provide many opportunities to take advantage of the Friends’ activities. On Friday, December 1, Carlton Stowers, journalist and author, will speak at the TCU Press Event. Just in time for the Holidays, authors will be on hand at the Event to present and autograph their books. Also, be sure to mark your calendar for the Friends Annual Spring Banquet on April 21. The 4th biennial TCU Texas Book Award will be presented at that time. Finally, throughout the year, the Friends Faculty Speak programs will continue. Stay tuned.

On a personal note, I begin this Fall Semester as the 17th President of the Friends of the TCU Library. I am humbled and privileged to serve and will seek to continue the good work and support that the Friends provides to the Library and to the members of the Friends organization.

I look forward to seeing you this Fall and throughout the year at a Friends event. Enjoy our Library! For more information, please call the Library administrative office at (817) 257-6109.

With kindest regards,

Kevin Kuenzli
