PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Opportunities abound with the Friends of the TCU Library. The fall
programming year began with the Star-Telegram’s Jeff Guinn interviewing
James Ward Lee, whose latest book is Adventures with a Texas Humanist.
TCU Press and the Friends co-sponsored the well-attended event, and the
audience left knowing that Lee is a Texas treasure.
In late October Paul Boller appropriately regaled the Friends with Presidential
anecdotes, and in November we honored Jim Wright on the 50th anniversary of his
first election to Congress with a reception in the Library.
The TCU Press Extravaganza on December 3 featured John Graves and gave
us yet another opportunity to meet authors and purchase books!
Friends are delighted to welcome Patti Durham and Marvin Gearhart as new members
of the Executive Committee. Both are strong supporters of the Library and of
its programs and will bring enthusiasm and commitment to our Board.
With Christmas just around the corner, a gift of membership in the Friends
of the TCU Library would be a thoughtful and enjoyable remembrance for your
friends. For more information call the library administrative office at 257-6109.
Your support also helps us to maintain support of this grand university library.
Warmest wishes for a happy holiday season.
