Vol. XVI, no. 2 TCU Library Newsletter, Web Edition March 2004

Mike Strom, the newest member of the library staff, started March 1 and is the new archivist in Special Collections. He fills the vacancy created by Glenda Stevens’s retirement last year. Mike, who came to TCU from Yale University where he processed the papers of Yale Law School faculty and alumni, holds history degrees from the University of Oregon and Central Washington University. He earned his Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he specialized in Archival Enterprise. While at UT, he served as president of the SAA Student chapter there. Mike, a native of Spokane, Washington, has also lived in Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Connecticut, and Texas. Before finding his way to academic libraries, he worked as a technical writer in Seattle for both Microsoft and Boeing. His hobbies include biking, golf, and “that hobby required of all librarians, reading.”
