Celebrating Faculty




                                 Reception highlights scholarly work by TCU Faculty members


                                                              The scholarly works of 85 faculty members were on display
                                                              during the month of April and formally highlighted on
                                                              Tuesday, April 9, at the Celebration of Faculty Research
                                                              and Creative Scholarship Reception.

                                                              The reception, held at the Library in the Sumner Reading
                                                              Room, gave TCU faculty members the opportunity to display
                                                              work published in 2018 through early 2019. Publications
                                                              included artwork, authored books, book chapters, peer-
                                                              reviewed journal articles, conference papers, music and multi-
                                                              media. In all, more than 120 works were on display and all
                                                              colleges were represented.


                                                              A few of the faculty scholarly work showcased at the reception
                                                              included:


        • The Codex Mexicanus: A Guide To Life in Late Sixteenth-Century New Spain, a book by Lori Boornazian Diel,
           professor of Art History & Art.
        • Building Models of Product Development Processes: An Integrative Approach to Managing Organizational Knowledge,
           in the Systems Engineering Journal, is a journal article by Tyson R. Browning, professor of Operations Management.
        • Journal article, Machinery Knows No Sex: Ruth Law, Women’s Abilities and World War I Aviation, in the Women’s
           Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal, written by Fred Erisman, Emeritus Professor, English.
        • ReEngage, a promotional video by associate professor of Film, Television and Digital Media, Dustin Hahn.
        • Replication in the Long Nineteenth Century, a book co-edited by Linda K. Hughes, Addie Levy Professor of
           Literature, English.

        “The celebration is a great chance to highlight our faculty’s scholarly work,” said Jeff Bond scholarly communication
        librarian. “It is a rare opportunity where we can celebrate faculty research and creative scholarship from all departments
        on campus in a single place.”
